I wrote this in about 5 minutes while waiting in a studio for my brother. On the surface it’s a heartbreaking song, but weirdly to me it’s always felt like a spot of acceptance of where I was at. I knew I wasn’t doing okay but I’d still “paint over cracks and sell them as art”. I wasn’t in love, I wasn’t where I wanted to be and I wasn’t who I wanted to be yet, but that’s okay. I was getting there.
