about

Basically the poor man's "Dreams" by The Cranberries. I wrote this song as a letter to someone I knew a long time ago, not out of anger or sadness but just like a, "hey, how are you these days?" Also the guitar solo was fun.

lyrics

Is it cold in Sacramento,
In the middle of December?
You can’t call me sentimental
Starting letters with the weather

But I’m trapped under southern skies
Seeing teardrops pool in crystal eyes
In someone else’s kitchen.
So here’s another note that I scrawled
For the box beside your bedroom door
Where we’d keep disposable pictures.

In your way,
You were falling off your faith
And I was in your way
Wishing we were older
Like I’d aways told you

Valley drive on a sunny afternoon
I was wearing your shoes
You were wearing my perfume.
Now I guess that bottle’s all run dry
The car died
And I ruined those shoes in the moshpit
Of a band we never liked.

I heard you found somebody new
On the other side of the Pacific.
Yeah I found somebody too
With eyes of blue
Who did the same as you.
But that’s alright.

In your way,
You were falling off your faith
And I was in your way
Wishing we were older
Like I’d aways told you
In your own way,
You were falling off your faith
And I was in your way
Wishing we were older
Like I’d aways told you

In your way,
You were falling off your faith
And I was in your way
Wishing we were older
Like I’d aways told you
In your own way,
You were falling off your faith
And I was in your way
Wishing we were older
Like I’d aways told you
